A twelve-day search for missing woman Danielle Nyland concluded Friday night, when RCMP found her body southeast of Shellbrook, Sask.

Danielle was last seen June 8. Her cellphone was found that day on the driveway of a rural property southeast of the town.

Her body was in a wooded area about 500 metres south of that spot, RCMP said in a press release.

Earlier in the day Friday, RCMP said officers had received tips from the public regarding Danielle and asked for anyone with more information to come forward.

RCMP announced on Tuesday they had located Prince Albert resident Raymond Knife, who might have information that could help investigators.

Investigators are also seeking information about a white pickup truck — possibly a Dodge — that might have been stolen in the Prince Albert or Shellbrook areas in recent weeks.

Danielle was described as Metis, 5’6″, 180 pounds with long brown hair and brown eyes.

Danielle’s birthday was June 15. She would be 23. Her family described her as a good girl who was loved by many.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday and the investigation is ongoing.

Investigators urge anyone with information regarding Danielle to contact police at 1-306-747-2606 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

It is again so sad that another of our sisters has been taken from our lives. When will this end. Maybe the punishment should fit the crime.

My sincerest condolences to her family and friends. Danielle Nyland we will remember you…

so so sad and overwhelmed that things of this nature happen to our people.. It makes angry that our aboriginal women are being targeted, raped and murdered…its really sad, for me as an aboriginal woman, and of my generation, that our women go missing, and something tragic happens to them.. I remember the 70’s, 80’s and partying, nothing like this ever happened, our friends , we looked after each other, made sure we got home okay and stayed away from rough parties…Yes sad, and prayers for the family. even though I don’t know them, I feel a kinship with them, may Danielle rest in peace, and also may we find out what really happened to her, as family will need closure…<3
